Jakarta PNS Will Undergo Drug Test Through Hair

The city administration is going to cooperate with the National Narcotic Agency (BNN) to conduct drug test towards civil servants in Jakarta. This time, besides from urine, the test also refers to hair.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama disclosed, the urine test is still deemed unoptimal. But if it uses hair sample, it will be accurate, because it can detect, despite drug consumption is long.

"I want to prepare fund to pay BNN conduct the hair test. Not all civil servants, but officials," he disclosed, Tuesday (9/27).

Drug Test Applied for Regional Heads Candidate

The first phase is the test will be focused on sub-district and urban village level. This is because, sometime ago, there were urban village head suspected consume drug, but pass the urine test.

"Check all of them, including their subordinates. And bring them to BNN for hair test. We'll know through hair," he expressed.

Basuki asserted, if the official refuses it, they must be forced. Drug test through hair sample is hoped can be held this week.

"The suspected headmen must be brought this week, for hair test. If they refuse, we will do it forcibly," he uttered.
